Rox is in the house! where are you?

I began my artistic endeavors on the deviantART site about 4 years ago. I had no idea what I was doing but knew I loved what I saw and the people were groovy too!

After integrating into the community and learning the ropes, I was invited to be a then Gallery Director for the wallpaper gallery. Soon after, film came to dA. I have a lot of background in film and was offered the volunteer position for the film and animation team.

Fast forwarding a bit- in January of 2008, I became a full time core employee of dA, working as the Assistant Director of Artist Relations. Very rewarding experience, and then, after the volunteer program was "restructured," and a trip to L.A., I was asked to become Manager of Film Development full time. (October 2008)

January, 2009, I received a phone call from my boss, $Moonbeam13, and was terminated. Nothing prior had indicated to me that there was an issue of any kind. Business is business and people are expendable- "no explanation required."

MOST importantly....- I met the love of my life, AHILdesigns aka allhopeislost on that site, and gained a LOT more than I lost. (pun intended)

My respect regarding the integrity and professionalism of particular members of the upper administration of deviantARTis obviously kicked to the curb. I was always taught to treat people fairly no matter what the situation. So now, here I am. Looking at the new and trying to forget about the old. Nice to see a site that seems to be clean, easy to navigate, and presents a hybrid of a few of the worlds most popular sites all in one. I'm diggin' it Emotion: smile.gif

I really appreciate the support of all of my watchers/friends on dA, but I have a hard time hanging out there now. I hope to see them all here. It seems what I didn't like about dA isn't here.

The most important thing about this entry though... is that, I'm inspired again. I can't wait to create!

Ever since I realized dA was going down the drain ( that was back in 2007 ) I haven't really been all too inspired myself, Artician's woken that up for me as well. Emotion: smile.gif Glad to know you're enjoying the place as much as I do! I'm a huge addict. Emotion: dry.gif Emotion: laugh.gif

I am so glad to read that you are moving forward with what you love! :-) That is really great, and inspiration to me as I have been having some difficulty in a similar area lately... :-) I am really excited to have something/someWHERE new (and so well built!) to escape to. Life can become so mundane sometimes, and then, to top it off, people seem to treat us as though we aren't worth the molecules that make up our being (that's how I've been made to feel lately - in a different situation). Thanks so much for your inspiration, and for being one!

Well I hope this to be one kick in the right direction for both you and jess ! Emotion: smile.gif I really like the overall feeling here and Its far more friendly and less childish/commercial than dA. One of the main reasons I told jess about this. Emotion: smile.gif I hope you guys'll grow here more than you did there, faster, stronger and while doing so, rediscover what design, art and aesthetics should be all about. Emotion: smile.gif
