Ok, really, back from the lake... and have been home a while, just BUSY.
Spending time playing the new survival modes of L4d, getting ready for my new job which consists of
trying to figure out how AHiL and I are going to go to bed before 3, 4 5 a.m. !!!!
we are nocturnal damnit!

Also figuring out what's up with my kiddo... she's having weird stuff with her heart beating fast and
we're banking on anxiety (like her mom)... but ruling out all the other possible stuff too. My dad has
a backwards heart and funky valves, so we're doing the better safe than sorry route.

What else? hmmm... still in that want to create mode but haven't yet. Interruptions maybe? weird picking up the tablet again after having been away from it a while but I'm gonna!!

This is based on the questions I get from various artists here.

Well what do you know??

That the top left corner of your Artician (yes where the little icon is) holds a handy little drop down
menu for finding things? 4 category headers and tons of sub menu options... take time to
explore for sure!

"discuss"= forum (I know, should be easy but lots of people ask me!!)
"browse network"= all the people you watch and all of their activity.
"community" shows you current things being discussed, popular users and more!

On that same line... if you want to customize ANYTHING, hit your "customize button"
You will see on your profile page all of the things you can customize. It's super simple once
you have a look at it.

THERE IS A NEW "FRIENDS I CLICK THE MOST" ability now. Click customize and go to the "friends"
section. You'll see the newness there. (thanks again guys for making that happen!)

As things here evolve I'm sure they'll be a bunch of new yumminess to be had here in the land of
great art, good people and a beautiful place to hang out. -yay-!

Damn you Artician!!!!!! *shake fist*

So AHiLdesigns and I have have been here for less than 3 days now and I'm blown away
with all the people who have stormed the doors to join the community here. It's been a fun
23 hours online, learning our way around and seeing what all is in store for this breath of
fresh air, in my opinion.

I know the site is small. It's new-ish, it's buggy (I know another buggy art site too!) lol. . .
however--------- it's very welcoming, intimate and it's fucking hot! the customization
options are so sweet and so far the admin response in the forums has been ace including
confirmation on some major upcoming features.

The thing I've bitched about the most is actually the lack of emotes. WE ARE EMOTE WHORES!
And guess what? They're open to new ones- any kind- submit to pixel art. So if you know fab
emoticonists or you are one yourself, get to crackin' cos you know what we like. :evillaugh: and
<--- isn't it.

For a list of desired emotes- I started a thread here -> We want these emotes!

Be sure to check the forums and ask questions, make suggestion and invite your friends who you
think might like it over here. I'm definitely doing the same.

And now, to address two topics that keep coming up in my inbox. NO, I'm not leaving dA, and I'm
not under some false pretense that we're going to make this dA, or that everyone is going to leave
dA and the greenLAND will fall under. I'm not stupid. I'm not being evil, I just need a change. Am
I still bitter? Fuck yes I am. Am I going to go on about it? no. I need to move on, it was easy for
them to do so here I go. (I still thank all of you for your support there too.) For me, I just couldn't
relax there, couldn't feel inspired, couldn't create. This is a new start for me and I couldn't be happier.

I'm sure the road here will be bumpy, I can imagine server issues, shit not working, 404 errors, category paths being weird, miscats, and missing things that I have been used to, but you know what... I'm excited. Renewed and ready to help! Everyone I've spoken to has been treated with warmth and guidance.

Topic TWO!

MY PAGE LAYOUT!!!!!!!!

All of my design work is not my own. I've stolen every bit of it. Yes, you heard me right. I stole it from my fiance' AHiLdesigns. LMAO.

He has created so many designs for people for CSS journals, blogs, etc.... and he's damned good at it. So thank you for all the compliments on my page but I didn't do it. He customized my header with his own design and tweaked an existing template from this site for the Artician community.

If you want a custom designed header, he'll make it for a small fee If you want an entirely custom designed page, he'll make it for a little more than a small fee- but he's super reasonable and worth it!!! If you have questions though, and don't need design work, I'm sure he's happy to help answer. Just go bug him. *nod*

I began my artistic endeavors on the deviantART site about 4 years ago. I had no idea what I was doing but knew I loved what I saw and the people were groovy too!

After integrating into the community and learning the ropes, I was invited to be a then Gallery Director for the wallpaper gallery. Soon after, film came to dA. I have a lot of background in film and was offered the volunteer position for the film and animation team.

Fast forwarding a bit- in January of 2008, I became a full time core employee of dA, working as the Assistant Director of Artist Relations. Very rewarding experience, and then, after the volunteer program was "restructured," and a trip to L.A., I was asked to become Manager of Film Development full time. (October 2008)

January, 2009, I received a phone call from my boss, $Moonbeam13, and was terminated. Nothing prior had indicated to me that there was an issue of any kind. Business is business and people are expendable- "no explanation required."

MOST importantly....- I met the love of my life, AHILdesigns aka allhopeislost on that site, and gained a LOT more than I lost. (pun intended)

My respect regarding the integrity and professionalism of particular members of the upper administration of deviantARTis obviously kicked to the curb. I was always taught to treat people fairly no matter what the situation. So now, here I am. Looking at the new and trying to forget about the old. Nice to see a site that seems to be clean, easy to navigate, and presents a hybrid of a few of the worlds most popular sites all in one. I'm diggin' it

I really appreciate the support of all of my watchers/friends on dA, but I have a hard time hanging out there now. I hope to see them all here. It seems what I didn't like about dA isn't here.

The most important thing about this entry though... is that, I'm inspired again. I can't wait to create!
